Now we're talking! The doctors have had it--and that's bad for Baucus. You gotta love it--everything from the GREAT logo to the informative blog to the impressive tagline--"This Fall, the rubber gloves meet the road."
Here it is in black and white-- Insurance companies deserve the ironic, tongue-in-cheek delivery of these quite articulate people. Why should insurance company executives make $350 million a year? What could possibly justify denying a claim for surgery over a typo?
Why does Senator Baucus think of US citizens as beggars for health care, even when they (over)pay for it?

This is a real way to get your 'arms around' the entire health insurance issue. The authors provide a summary so concise and timely, there are no words for it--except to read it.
To the streets--We're doing the job, people are coming out, but the other two legs of the stool to boost this fledgling movement to the next step are missing Namely, those are:
Some say Americans are 'confused' about the health care/health insurance debate. Why? Could it be bad information is driving the process? This article clearly sets out the most egregious deliberate inaccuracies for public consumption to which we've been subjected.
Finally! A staunch insider spills the beans on 'recission' and 'purging' among other health insurance industry tactics for leaving the insured out in the cold and sopping wet (despite industry blankets and umbrellas). There may be hope for the HIZzers yet!
"The Politics of Hope" have run smack into the American penchant for trying to have it all. Heavy lifting will be required in the form of a massive communication effort so that everyone knows what this is all about, but it must be done, and not by the pharma industry, either.
This is the cutest accurate little presentation you ever saw on the whole health care issue. Essentially it puts the nut exactly where it belongs--our money is being hijacked by the insurance industry when it comes to health care. But it's so cute!
Most people don't have the time to investigate every line of the health insurance reform bills currently in the Congress. But health insurers do.

1. NO healthcare system is perfect.
2. There should be good value, good quality healthcare for all regardless of income.
3. At time of illness no-one should have to worry about not getting the care and treatment they need because they can't afford it.
4. The huge amount of bankruptcies due to spiraling health costs is a scandal.
5. Public healthcare means no more co-pay, cancellation of coverage, pre-existing conditions issues.
6. The health insurers make huge profits. This money could be better used in a public system to ensure treatment for all.
7. Economies of scale from public healthcare can lead to cost savings.
8. Although taxes would be increased to pay for healthcare, the savings made in not having to pay private health insurance premiums, which have been increasing way over the rate of inflation for a number of years, would more than balance this out.
9. Those that complain that the unemployed or illegals are getting free healthcare now would easily have that addressed if sales tax is increased to pay for public health. Then everyone, regardless of status, pays into the healthcare system every time they go to the store. What could be fairer than that?
10. Politics, and political ideology needs to be taken out of the equation here. In a rich, developed, civilized nation, everyone should get decent health care. Period.— Eyebee
